Founded in 1999 McCownGordon is one of the largest contractors in the region, specializing in preconstruction services, construction management, general contracting and design-build. McCownGordon has established a reputation for building facilities in a variety of markets with a people-first approach toward doing business. McCownGordon has offices in both Missouri and Kansas, and has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Kansas City by the Kansas City Business Journal for the past eleven consecutive years. McCownGordon faced a number of challenges from both a business and technology standpoint with their previous website. Their previous website did not reflect their brand and people first approach toward doing business. It was neither responsive nor adaptive from a mobile standpoint, and perhaps most importantly, was not easy to manage internally, requiring developer intervention for updates.
The vision for the new website was to significantly enhance its visual appeal and brand, bring a laser-sharp focus on highlighting their people and projects, support any device, and have complete control over day-to-day content creation and management of their website as a means of further positioning McCownGordon as a leader in the application of emerging technology in their industry.

In order to achieve McCownGordon’s website re-design goals, we presented two different options to choose from; one being the use of the Sitefinity content management systems (CMS) and the other being SharePoint. Both technologies are highly capable and bring a great deal of functionality to any solution. However, given McCownGordon’s vision and the fact that the Marketing department would be the primary user of the website, administratively and functionally, it became clear that the Sitefinity CMS was the best choice for McCownGordon.
The new website was created and delivered using Triple-I’s four-phase implementation process which guides the delivery of solutions. Based on Agile development principles, i3deologyTM (Triple-I-deology) is an iterative approach to solution development that focuses on the early and continuous delivery of valuable software that provides business functionality – software that works. This approach also ensures frequent communication with the client in order to guarantee that we achieve the client’s vision, and, do what we say we will do when we say that we will do it.
Triple-I created and delivered a website utilizing the Sitefinity CMS that is exceptionally visually appealing (regardless of viewing device), clearly emphasizes the beautiful design of its buildings, and the character and commitment of its people. The new website also provides McCownGordon a level of control and flexibility over managing its website that was previously unavailable, and, continues to reinforce McCownGordon as a leader in the application of emerging technology in their industry.
